DIRECTIONS:

Captain Tinkham's Emporium is on Main Street (Rt. 3 and Rt. 1) of downtown Searsport, Maine. It is directly across the street from the Grasshopper Shop.

DESCRIPTION:

Captain Tinkham's Emporium consists of a circa 1840 brick storefront, formerly the Captain Parker residence (National Register of Historical Buildings.) Most recently occupied by the Searsport Drugstore, Captain Tinkham's includes a tool annex (which is the main entrance) adjacent to the main book store. The main component of the store is devoted to books, prints, sheet music, records, magazines, glassware, antiques and collectibles. The tool annex has a nice selection of old tools and hardware. Due to space limitations, all power tools and used furniture are sold at the Liberty store.
